Hi, I'm Savannah Friddle.
I am the founder of Flights for Freedom, a nonprofit I started in 2021 during my freshman year of college. For as long as I can remember, joining the military always sat in the back of my mind. But as life unfolded, I realized God had a different plan for me — and sometimes the path we didn't expect leads us exactly where we need to be.
What started as a simple Facebook post in my dorm room — an idea to help military members get home for the holidays — has since grown into an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our mission is simple yet profound: to help cover the cost of flights so service members can be with their loved ones during the holidays.
Flights for Freedom has grown into an entire community of people who share that same joy — donating, writing and sending cards, and hearing testimonials. It's become a labor of love, and I'm grateful every day for the chance to serve those who sacrifice so much for our country.
In Memory of LCpl Jackson Forringer
Jackson Forringer was a truly selfless individual who continually reminded everyone around him of the importance of love and second chances. His unwavering dedication to these values touched the lives of many. Jackson made the ultimate sacrifice by serving in the Marines, demonstrating his profound commitment to protecting others. Tragically, LCpl Forringer lost his life on April 20, 2023, just days before his birthday.
Jackson and I shared a very close friendship, one built on regular conversations about our futures and goals. His loss was devastating — one I never thought I would heal from. Yet in his absence, Jackson continues to inspire me to love others unconditionally. Through Flights For Freedom, I pray that others can come to know and treasure the life story of my dear friend, Jackson Forringer.
